Between the 1980’s through the early 90’s, crime was at its highest peak in New York City.

The streets filled in graffiti, drug dealers/users, and the homeless. Below the city, lied its greatest extent to such chaos, the subway. Almost daily, various individuals were harassed and mugged when taking a ride merely to work or home.
